Peace Workshop

July 28-30, 2009

As you begin another school year, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to empower your children with the language and techniques they need to resolve their conflicts peacefully?

Come and join us in beautiful Carmel to expand your understanding of Montessori’s vision for peace through education. Take some time off to enjoy the natural beauty in this exquisite part of California, and learn techniques for finding your own inner peace. Come away from this workshop with a deeper understanding of how the education for peace curriculum is interwoven into Montessori’s cosmic education, and the practical ability to use the Peace Table and Peace Mandala in your classroom. We will also review and practice exercises in non-violent communication and conflict resolution for the 3 to 6 year old. Learn about Montessori’s view of the profound nature of peace, and explore her work Education and Peace. We will also learn peace songs that you can use with your own students—bring your tape recorders!
